World Drumming with Ringo Brill In-Person

Join us at the Leroy R. Coles, Jr. Branch Library for an interactive drumming workshop for kids, grade level: Pre-K - 12!

Music and drumming accompanies every facet of village life in West Africa, encapsulating the necessities, challenges, and joys of human cooperation. With teaching artist Ringo Brill, students will explore these as they gain skills in rhythm, cooperation, and teamwork. Students will learn traditional rhythms and playing techniques on authentic instruments. Ringo Brill brings over twenty years of experience teaching and performing traditional music of West Africa and the African Diaspora.

Two instances of this workshop will be held May 18th and May 25th. Please feel free to attend both sessions! Registration is suggested but not required as it will be limited to 20 kids per workshop. Register online or call/visit the branch to be added to the list!
