Buffalo Presidential Center program: "The Two Mrs. Fillmores"
For Women's History Month: The 13th President of the U.S., Millard Fillmore, was married to two very different women -- Abigail Powers Fillmore and Caroline Carmichael Fillmore. Each had great significance on Fillmore's Presidency, his leadership in Buffalo afterward, and his life. Retired teacher, author and historian Rachelle Moyer Francis will explore the stories of these two strong women, both of which are buried with Fillmore in Buffalo's Forest Lawn Cemetery.
