National Chess Day Open Tournament 2023 In-Person
Adult and Scholastic sections; each section limited to first 20 players.
Free and open to the public but players must register at Knightsof64@yahoo.com before October 7 with name, USCF ID number (if applicable), and phone number (Scholastic players should indicate grade level).
USCF rules enforced. Time Control: Game 25 with 5 second delay. Players should bring a Staunton style chess set, algebraic chess board and digital chess clock if you have one.
Players to report by 10:30 a.m.; seated at 10:45; games at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. Awards at 2:30 p.m.
Tournament takes place in the Central Meeting Room, second floor of the Downtown Library.
Presented by Archangel 8 Chess Academy, Michael A. McDuffie, USCF Tournament Director, and the African American Veterans Arts & Culture Corporation.
