University Express: Wonderful Words of Shakespeare
The Oxford English Dictionary lists more than 1,700 words which appear for the first time in Shakespeare’s writing. He was the first person we know of to use these words in print. However, there are as many as 400 words which Shakespeare may have actually invented himself. Whether by combining two words that already existed to create something new, or by taking common words and changing the parts of speech, there are so many words in the English Language made popular by Shakespeare. In this workshop, we will explore some of Shakespeare’s words and work together to create a poem or sonnet with them. Please Register by calling 716-652-2719.
