Celebrate local literary voices at Indie Author Day 2026!

This year's event will be Saturday, November 14th, 2026 at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo, NY 14203. The event will be held on the 2nd floor of the library.

Indie Author Day is part of a nationwide celebration connecting independent writers with their local libraries and writing communities. Whether you’re a published creator, just starting your journey, or just curious-- this free event is for you!

This year’s program includes expert-led presentations, networking opportunities, and a book fair featuring local authors and literary professionals. Book lovers are encouraged to come meet local and indie talent and shop local and indie books.

Indie Author Day 2026 Call for Submissions!

Interested in helping your fellow creatives? Volunteer to lead a workshop, panel, or talk for the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library's Indie Author Day 2026!

We’re looking for local writers, booksellers, editors, literary agents, illustrators, influencers, and other creative partners to be part of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library’s Indie Author Day 2026 on Saturday, November 14.

Submit your program idea by August 15, 2026 to be considered. All genres, backgrounds, and levels of experience are welcome to propose a program.

Table requests are open!

Last year we brought back indie author book sales, and we're doing it again this year! Tabling is open to local and indie authors, artists, designers, marketers, influencers, publishers, editors, and others connected to the local and indie literary community. Only book sales by local and indie authors are permitted.

Tabling at this event is free.  Space is limited. Table requests must be submitted and approved by the Library, submission does not guarantee acceptance.
