Chasing the Moon: A PBS Screening

Chasing the Moon: A PBS Screening

The Concord Public Library has been awarded an exclusive preview PBS AMERICAN EXPERIENCE,”Chasing the Moon”.  Scheduled to air on PBS Monday – Wednesday July 8 -10, 2019, “Chasing the Moon”, a documentary by Academy Award Nominee Robert Stone, recasts the Space Age utilizing a feast of previously overlooked archival material.

We will be showing an excerpt from “Part One: A Place Beyond the Sky.” It’s 1961, and the space race is gaining momentum. While the rivalry with the Soviet Union intensifies, President Kennedy publicly champions America’s space program and challenges the nation to land a man on the moon – even though he privately has concerns about the astronomical costs. And as the space program expands, the press come to play a significant role in promoting NASA to the American public.

Seating is limited. Call 716-592-7742 or stop in to register.
