Identity Theft

In this workshop, participants will learn about the methods used by identity thieves to steal personal information and how to protect themselves. They will also understand what information is at risk and red flags to watch out of for with regard to common scams.

Free and open to the public. Presented by Donna Ponholzer of Northwest Bank. Registration required. Please call 873-2842 or stop in the library to register.

Banking Basics: Wednesday, October 16th 7-8pm: *This worshop is geared to young adults 14 years old and up; Participants will learn how they can work with financial institutions to help them manage their personal finances, grow their wealth, and safeguard their money. They will learn about the variety of account types available for their needs and receive a primer on how to open a simple account.

Credit Scores & Reports: Tuesday, October 22nd 7-8pm: Participants will learn what a credit score is, its importance, and how to read a credit report. They’ll also learn the tools to maintain a healthy credit score and repair bad credit.

Retirement: Wednesday, November 20th 7-8pm: Participants will begin to prepare for retirement readiness by creating a savings plan and learning about investment vehicles that may allow them to grow their wealth. They will also set financial goals and lean how to manage them.
