Veterans Day Celebration Transcribathon for The American Soldier in World War II

Veterans Day Celebration Transcribathon for The American Soldier in World War II

Join the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library's TechKnow Lab in celebrating Veterans Day by participating in a transcribathon focused on uncensored, handwritten reflections from World War II soldiers on war and military service. Participants will transcribe digitized WWII soldier questionaires.  There will be TechKnow Lab staff on site to help you get started transcribing using our computers.  Flyer

No registration is needed -- just basic typing and internet skills and as little as a few minutes of your time.  Please stop into the TechKnow Lab on the 2nd Floor of the downtown Central Library anytime between 10am-1pm.  If you cannot make the event, anyone wishing to transcribe these documents may do so at any time via the Zooniverse site  (https://www.zooniverse.org/projects/tkotwim/the-american-soldier ).

Learn more about The American Soldier in World War II  Project, a collaboration among multiple units at Virginia Tech (College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences; University Libraries; and Center for Human-Computer Interaction), the National Archives and Records Administration, and the National Endowment for the Humanities, with additional support from the Social Science Research Council.
