Virtual (Online) Genlightenment Series: City Directory Substitutes: Voter Registration Records, County Directories and More! Virtual
City directories are one of the best resources for tracking your ancestors. The residential listings provide addresses, amongst other information. Since the nineteenth century, directories are often published yearly for the largest cities in a U.S. county or region; however, publishers did not often print small town directories until the mid-twentieth century or later. The sources discussed in this class may serve as substitutes for those small towns that do not have directories of their own.
Classes are held online via Zoom (https://www.zoom.us/). A (free) Zoom account is necessary to attend the classes.
Genlightenment Series: This bimonthly series of mini-lectures brings to light lesser-known genealogical records accessible in the Grosvenor Room. Take a break, sit back, open your mind and let yourself be Genlightened.
